Hometown Highlights - 5/4/2020

Many times those with the best stories go unnoticed and their stories untold. One day I was thinking about people like my grandmother, and others in my life that have these amazing anecdotes, stories of struggle and perseverance, stories that would otherwise be swept away with time without people like me to hold on to their memory. I felt I had to interview the people in my life who need their stories told, who need a platform for their voice, and all those who generally impacted my life in a remarkable way. Im definitely inspired by Humans of New York, and want to do something similar.

In a Covid-19 world (God, that sounds crazy) doing an interview is harder than I would like it to be, but I will make the best with what I have. I will screen-record Facetime, and other video calls, as well as voice record, and anything else really if I have to. I will use whatever material I can get and make to showcase the lives of those who mean something to me. I will start this series off with a few of my friends, who both ended up in very different places than I ever would’ve imagined for them when I first met them.

I want to give back. If this is the start if me giving back, then it’s the least I can do. I feel like my life is one big movie, and I want to show off the great people of my life, as if they were stars on the red carpet, telling their “E! True Hollywood Story.” Everyone deserves their fifteen minutes, eh?

If you are a medical professional, more specifically, one who is working with Covid-19 patients, I want to start by saying thank you. Our loved ones could be in your care, and knowing how crazy it is out there, I want to say thank you for everything you do. Hospitals are under such crazy restrictions and procedures, it must be very stressful, and you are doing the best with what you’re given during these unprecedented times. That being said, I want to hear your story. Email me, and lets set something up!

Stay tuned for the first of many Hometown Highlights, hopefully coming this week. It all depends on how fast I can edit a video and write a blog post.

Stay well, Stay healthy.
